2009 in my life

A few more days to reach the end of 2009.

Let me go through my events here.

My best achievements in 2009 is conquering Mount Kota Kinabalu.

It was a memorable experience for me personally because i never thought that i would be able to make it to the top. 2 days or trekking and finally we made it. Tiring but worth it. :)

Next, would be me playing in a basketball tournament at my age of 25.

I would say that i took a brave step in joining a fresh team. Fresh team i mean rookies. I know my teammates last year and i thought it would be fun to join them in a tournament. It was not my first time playing in tournaments, but they are. We played hard and work harder. But we still lost. That is not the point. The point is all of us loosing as a team. That is what makes us specials. Well too bad i planned to move Singapore to work, if i had not i would be joining them for the next season.

My next big thing is 2009 is getting a brand new car and me moving to Singapore to work.

There is nothing to brag about my new car or my work in Singapore. But it is still my first ever car. The one that i can proud to say i bought it with my hard earned money :)

I think that is all the highlights of my life in 2009. Good bye 2009 and i am going to miss you.

Morning Inspiration

Got into office on a Monday morning and read an email from my boss which really got me thinking. Here is the content:

"What makes winners different from losers is NOT what happens tothem. Rather, it is the different choices they make.

I know many winners in life who were born with pretty lousy deals! Some of them were born to abusive parents, born with low IQ, borninto very poor families, or even born paralyzed. Yet, they becamesuper successful and happy because they chose positive thoughts andactions.

At the same time, I know many people who were born smart, rich andgood looking. However, because they chose negative thoughts andactions, they ended up broke, addicted to drugs and miserable.Let's find out how people choose to become winners or losers inlife.

The Loser

When losers have problems, they always choose to do three things.First, they choose to give excuses. For example, if they lose acompetition, they will give themselves excuses such as, 'there wasno time to train', 'I was unlucky', 'the referee was not fair' or'the weather was too hot'.

Secondly, losers choose to blame everyone else. For example, theymay blame their coach ('he's a lousy coach'). They may blame theirparents ('I inherited their lousy genes' or 'they did not encourageme').

Finally, instead of improving themselves, losers like to spendtheir time complaining about why everything is so bad. When you blame someone (or something), you are giving him/her yourpower! For example, if you fail English and blame your teacher forbeing lousy and boring, it means your teacher is the onecontrolling your success! So, you have no power to change yourresults; only your teacher can do so.

This is why losers feel powerless and helpless. They believe thatfor things to change, other people must change. So, they let theirlife get controlled by everyone and everything around them. Theylike to say things such as, 'that's just the way I am', 'there'snothing I can do', 'it's not my fault', and 'they ruined my day'.

The Winner

Do winners have great things just happening to them all the time?Nope, in fact some of them may be born into poor families, haveabusive parents, have mean teachers, or be given less opportunities.

However, they always have the power to make their life the way theywant it.

This is because winners choose to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY foreverything that is happening in their life. For example, if theyfail an English test, winners will take responsibility for thesituation.

Instead of blaming and giving excuses, they believe that THEYCREATED their results because of their past choices. Maybe theychose not to pay attention in class, they chose not to askquestions when they did not understand, they chose not to studyhard enough, or they studied using an ineffective strategy.

Because winners believe that they create all their results, theyknow that they have the power to change and create differentoutcomes! They also believe that for things to change, they mustfirst change themselves.

So who do YOU want to be?"

I think to myself. Did i give myself too many excuses?

YES. Definately.

I think i should take this into considerations :)

Being me...

I was brought up by my parents in a small town in Malaysia. Both my loving parents showered both my elder sister and me the best of everything they can afford. The best is their LOVE...

Anyway, they are who i am today. They sculpt me with the best qualities in a soul could have. For i shall forever be grateful for their sacrifice.

I started my schooling days back in 1990 in a kinder garden. Learning the basics and then moved on to standard 1 where my parents role has been passed on to a very special person. She is my English teacher, tuition teacher, and my transport to school :)

She made me work hard in every way, education, sports, & even extra curricular activities. I was very athletic, i was a school runner, i played football, badminton, and even tried hoki :p
Times flies when you are enjoying. Before you know it, it is time to move up a notch. My secondary schooling begins. Made new friends and my journey in my learning curve continues. Made a lot of valuable memories and lessons in life. Gain a very strong bond of friends. :)
As always, i am good in sports but not so good in books. Tried every sports there is to offer but i fell in love with only 1, Basketball. LOL

I try not to focus too much on what i am good at :p Next time may be.

Yeah, time flies too. And i even did my 'A' level in the same school (Saint George Institution). Did very badly though. I blame it on myself. Not to mention the problems that i caused in those years. A very bad period in my life.

Well i moved on after a disasterous year. I went college and moved out of my small town. I get the taste of true freedom. College life is great. But i got to remember that i do not have that much money since i am on my own in that very big city (Kuala Lumpur). My parents helps me, but i tried not to rely on them too much. I wanted to be independant. So i started working partime :) Just enough for me to enjoy life back then.

After i graduate, i started working. Nothing interesting about my work, but i've never stop learning til this day. I worked 4 years in Kuala Lumpur and decided to venture overseas. So here i am, in Singapore. Same me, but different environment. Hope i could start to realise what i want here. Cheers :)

Greetings....

This is my blog to mark the beginning of my life at the end of my 25 years in life.
Do not misunderstand that i am going to die or something, its just a suddenly thoughts about my past 25 years was spent just like a dream. Not to say it was not worth it, but i believe that i could have done a lot of things better and could have make a better person out of me. I do not believe in regrets either. I make my decisions and actions when necessary and then i move on. Simple and straight forward, i think i let 25 years of my life went without a directions in life. So here i am trying to get a direction or at least think of what is going to happen to me. Cheers. :)
